Wellspring of Life

"I like the name Wellspring. Where does it come from?" Susan, one of our dear friends from Uganda sat in our living room last night and asked me that question.  Interesting timing, since I'll be talking about that topic this Sunday. Do you know that in a previous generation our church was called Elim? Do you know what Elim is, or where Elim is in the Bible? And, how does that connect with Wellspring?

What is a wellspring, anyway?  The scriptures say, "With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation."  Jesus also reminds his followers, "Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him."  There is ample imagery throughout the Bible that speaks of the depths of God's presence and the flow of God's kingdom.

We have hung the word Wellspring over our door, but are we experiencing its reality? Is our wellspring life-giving? Does our wellspring produce a kingdom's flow? This Sunday I will share some thoughts about who we are and who we believe the Lord has called us to be. I encourage you to join us at one of our services for this discussion, and so much more.

I have been looking through Wellspring and how it is used in the Bible and I was fascinated that one of the words in the translation is "of the eye"

From the Strong's
of physical eye
as showing mental qualities
of mental and spiritual faculties (fig.)

I had a vision during prayer at the altar after your sermon related to vision and I am fascinated trying to mentally reconcile vision with fountains and wellsprings - even symbolically. I don't feel like I grasp it yet, but it interests me.

Praise God, I asked for a connection and the Lord led me to a clear relationship of the eye to the Wellspring:

Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. 22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

And when I looked up vision - one of the words had the Strong's meanings of:vision, oracle of a prophet, agreement

My people perish for lack of vision came to me and the concept of being in agreement or bearing witness to the heart of God.

I read this from Job and it was so beautiful.

11 When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me: 12 Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him. 13 The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy. 14 I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem. 15 I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame. 16 I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out.

The Holy Spirit quickened that I edited out the warfare at the end of Job. LOL! I seem to keep doing that.

He also quickened that when I had a vision pertaining to vision, which might relate to the vision of the church, there are 3 different visions represented. I feel to declare prophetically by faith that natural vision will be restored here and spiritual visions will be poured out and that people who are perishing, because they have lost their personal sense of vision will have it restored and that the third type of vision relates to the other part of the Body represented by wellspring on the Strong's page, and it reminds me that there needs to be a vision to bring life and that leads to a birthing process - or a Born Again process.

I laugh, because I scrolled down the page and my word to prove I am not a robot is iSeeven and it was like the i see jumped out at me, so I went to type a short prayer at the end and went to type Lord, but my fingers were one letter off and I ended up typing Kind and God's heart is what I believe He has been saying is one of the things He wants people to get a vision of.

Lord, You are kind and I pray for everyone at Wellspring to come to see that and to bear witness to it and to receive visions that give birth to Your Kingdom coming on earth as it is in Heaven. In Jesus Name I pray, AMEN

LOL! The Holy Spirit quickened that I did it again. I edited what He was showing me, because I didn't understand it.

The number to prove I wasn't a robot was 91 and as my head hit the pillow I heard, "You edited out the warfare again" and the get up and read Psalm 91 and it has an eye in it, which comforted me, because I am a watchman and tend to see visions and hate the warfare ones lately and apparently am editing out the warfare (3 times in 3 days) but here is a promise in the scripture related to visions:

Psalm 91:8 Only with thine EYES shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

This morning, I pondered if Wellspring might be corporately the "eye" of the Body - and the "eyes of the Lord" verses started popping into my mind starting with:

2 Chronicles 16:9 "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars." KJV

Also the concept of the eyes being a "watchman" in "The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good." Proverbs 15:3 KJV

Pr 22:12 "The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor."

The eyes also represent receiving the favor and grace of the Lord.

1 Peter 3:12 "For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil."

I was just pondering if there is something else to add to the list from "eyes" like being a watchman or in strengthening the Body or being a lamp to the Body.

Also, I was wondering with the menstrual part about the concept of "reproducing ourselves" or discipleship of the Body.

I am not trying to get you to change the vision, by the way. LOL! I just had the thought that you might think that I was. I just was praying into the name and am trying to grasp the destiny of the house. Trying to understand it at a deeper level to see where I might fit in.

During the conference, last night, the Lord brought me back to the "eye" and, today, He had me search on Youtube and I found a message by Dan Mohler called: Twisted Perspectives and he was talking about if the light in you is darkness and I "got" that so much of the Body of Christ has a twisted perspective on so much of the Word and it turns what is Light and causes it to be darkness.

Blessed that Wellspring is putting forth the Light in a way that it can manifest as true light - so it is already functioning as an "eye" in this region, in my opinion.

I didn't tell you, but you can delete all my comments. Sorry. I get passionate and I know I need to not do that to people
